There are two styles of using fork, spoon and knife. One is European style and the other one is American style.
If there is more than one fork in the table the bigger one is used to main course and the little one is salad fork. Fork for the main course is always close to the plate.
Handle the fork and knife from one for each hand. Take the kinfe to your usually using hand. While handling the knife put the second finger along on the top of the kife and wrap others surrounding the handle.
Do not ever touch fork and knife together to form sounds. Do not ever put the used equipments on the table again. Keep those in your plate. If you eating rice you have to use a spoon. Here the spoon must be taken to your usual hand.
